There is no such thing as “Busy”

“No one is busy in the world. It is all about priorities”

You must have read this famous quote. We don’t realize how often we used this word “Busy”. Let me summarize few situations for you here;

  • Someone asks you for help and you replied I am very busy – prevent helping someone.
  • You decide to begin some activity however considering that you might be busy you can’t spare time for it – not a priority
  • We always complain about not getting enough time to spend on hobbies – stressed with pointless things
  • When a person checking on you and you answer that you are busy, excuse to ignore that person – ignoring a vibe
  • A good suggestion is approaching you for your betterment and you ignored it saying you are too busy to focus on something else – don’t know what is important

“Busy” is used in two cases; first to hinder something and second when we lack priorities and get no time to do the jobs on hand.

The next time you say you are busy, know that it is an excuse. An explanation for hiding your inabilities to face challenges or fear or may be something else. There might be two eventualities only, either you want to do it or you don’t. Be clear in your mind about these selections of yours.

An activity, a person, a situation and so on, if you don’t want to deal with it, state it clearly. Enable yourself to be free from pointless stress. When you’re clear in your intellect and your moves are aligned with your thoughts and it brings peace of mind.

If you happen to prioritize something, you will make time for it. Be it work, relationships, friendships, good habits or something else – you always have while for anything if you make time. You have rights to decide what is important to you and what is not. You are the best person to decide what makes you glad and what no longer.

Priorities the things you wish to have, which are significant, which bring delight and value to your efforts. Time is very valuable spend it wisely on your priorities.

Till the next thought, take care..!

A Project Kick-off Meeting!

I have seen many people wondering about a kick-off meeting before the project. They don’t understand that why it is so necessary. They want to just jump in and get going.

Please consider this analogy.

Let us say you want to spend good time with your family at the beach. This is very high level requirement.

What you are going to do, you jump in your car and head out. But wait, you forgot the kids, where is Rahul? So first, get your team together.

Now you start out again … whoops, you forgot the map – you need a plan to get there.

OK, now we can go, but what if we get a flat tire? Do we have a good spare wheel? Don’t you think we need to manage these risks? The answer is yes. Do we have sufficient finance to refuel the vehicle till we reach the destination? We arrive at the lake, but UH-OH, the family wanted to go to the ocean. Were you successful? No. that means we need to alter the budget and re-plan to go to a beach. We need to talk about budget and sponsors before we start our journey.

If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.

Who will read the map, who will drive, who will tune the radio? We need team commitment to tasks. What will you do if the forecast says it is raining at your destination? Can you go to a different beach within the time for your vacation? You need change management. Did you remember to bring your cell phone’s charger? If the answer is no and your phone is dead. What is your communication plan? You run into a detour and you are running low on gas. How do you plan to handle issues? And when the kids ask “How soon will we be there?” maybe you need to have a communication plan as well.

It is always recommended to have project kick-off meeting. Get the team together and meet with the stakeholders. Discuss the plan, where you are going and how to get there. Discuss risks and contingencies, communication plans, budgets, issue management. Obtain agreement and commitment.

Then track your progress, stay on the road and have a safe trip.

Your Time Will Come!

Different places in the world operates on separate Time. New York is 3 hours ahead of California, however it does not mean that California is slow, or that New York is fast. Both are working based on their own Time. They both have their own mornings and evenings.

Same way in life at the same age one is still single and the other got married. One ‘waited’ 10 years before having a child, there is another who had a baby within a year of marriage.

Someone graduated at the age of 22, yet waited 5 years before securing a good job; and there is another who graduated at 27 and secured employment immediately!

We are a TEAM!

A great relationship needs a great and solid foundation. The foundation must be built with respect, love, sincerity and commitment.

The relation of HUM and TUM is one of the most beautiful relationships. Here is a small conversation between HUM and TUM on the day of their wedding.

I promise to compensate you for whatever you lack. In return I anticipate the identical from you. In the world where no one is perfect, we will balance each other out in all good and bad situations.

Life is going to be full of ups and downs. Nevertheless within the days of any setback just be there with me and have faith on me. I promise we will make a better comeback.

Each time you will have a bad day, I promise you a greater night.

I promise you to keep you motivated all the time to achieve all your dreams. I promise there will not be any space for ego and selfishness between us as long as we care for each other.

Our journey will be vigorous as long as we admire each other and remain consistent.

You don’t need to doubt my loyalty. You hold me tight and I promise I hold us for rest of our life.

I promise to accept all your weakness and provide strengths to your decisions.

We are a TEAM and I am looking forward to have a wonderful companionship with you.

People often say that life changes adversely after marriage, nonetheless it is not the very fact most of the time. The rule of life is very simple, one has to invest first to gain the returns. What I learnt from life is in a relationship one invest more and the other one gains more. The outcomes is not as desired and causing the agony of life time.

Setting up the expectations by showing the commitment to each other gives the positive jump start.

Dedication and not only involvement will brings the fruits you might be looking for.

We take care of what we VALUE!

“JRD Tata had a friend who used to say that he misplaces and loses his pen very often. He will use only very cheap pens so that he need not to worry about losing them. He was worried about carelessness habit.

JRD suggested him to buy the costliest pen he could afford and see what happens. He did that and purchased a 22 carat gold pen. After nearly six months JRD met him and asked him if he continues to misplace his pen. His friend said that he is very careful about his costly pen and he is surprised how he has changed! JRD explained to him that the value of the pen made the difference and there was nothing wrong with him as a person!”

This is what happens in our life. We are careful with things and people which we value most. It applies to every substance related to us. Our wellbeing, work, buddies, family, money, time and so on.

  • If we value our health, we will be careful about what and how we eat;
  • If we value our friends, we will treat them with admire;
  • If we value money, we will be careful while spending;
  • If we value our time, we will no longer waste it.
  • If we value relationship, we will not break it.
  • If we value the work we do, we will be honest and sincere in doing it!

While we earned something after placing up numerous efforts, we will undoubtedly value it. The things we receive without cost or efforts are valueless for us, until we recognize its worth or we lose it.

Carefulness is a basic trait all of us have, we know when to be careful! Carelessness only shows what we don’t value.
